The tracks are an absolutely intoxicating collection of sounds and you could say that each track is more of a sketch than a song. The essential components in the album are obscure slow-motion sampling and decaying sound quality. This album is by the so-called Distaderio a. The release is a key example of skillfully new-composed vaporwave, which sounds like '90s synth pop. The tracks take a neo-futuristic turn on vaporwave. I enjoy finding clever ways to segment imagesdetect people being jerksor even help a robot get through a farm. This week was one of those weeks. In addition to my involvement in technology, I enjoy fashion and art. I recently discovered a fringe art form known as Vaporwave.

The form adopts elements of popular internet era art forms such as glitch art and chillwave. Such objects illicit feelings of simplicity, when personal computers were still nascent and the tech industry was considerably more tame.

Growing up during the cross of the millennia, I felt these pieces paid homage to my upbringing. Being an active image processing programmer, I decided to partake in the art form. I developed a short Python script that Vaporwaved any given photo. This project did the complete opposite. The goal was to add noise and destroy the image, but in a tasteful manner.

One of the features of Vaporwave art I wanted to include was glitch art. This is when digital errors are purposely used to make artistic patterns. This art form has an especially powerful sense when applied to the human face. Useful libraries, such as OpenCV, make facial recognition fairly simple. OpenCV has models that can be used to detect different facial poses and features.

I specifically wanted to develop functions that would manipulate the whole face or just the eyes. Using Haar cascades and some parameter tweaking, faces and eyes where picked up in the majority of images. Knowing the location of the face, there were two primary facial glitches I wanted to perform, face dragging and static glitching. This is a simple vaporwave text generator which allows you to input normal text and it will output a vaporwave font style It's still text, but it looks like a different font, and is often call the aesthetic font.

The full-width characters used in vaporwave text have their origins in Asian computer systems where the traditional Asian symbols would generally be considered "full-width" characters, but the latin script characters could be fit into half-width blocks because of their relatively smaller size.

Have a read of this Wikipedia article for more. Here's a comparison of full-width and half-width characters:. The way this generator creates vaporwave letters is by using the unicode standard which contains "full-width" characters which are wider than usual, or rather, have larger spaces in between the letters. These characters aren't a different font. They're just different symbols, but you don't have them on your keyboard, so you're not used to seeing them. There are tens of thousands of different possible characters, and there are a very limited number of keys on your keyboard, so it's no wonder people mostly haven't seen them before.

The typical vaporwave text style that this translator helps you convert normal text into is used in song titles, vaporwave art, aesthetic YouTube videos, and all over the vapor scene. I've also seen it called "Japanese text" and "80s text". The former is obviously from the full-width Asian characters above, and the latter is probably because of old computer systems using monospace fonts, which are easily confused with the idea of full-width unicode characters since full-width characters should be evenly spaced no matter the font - i.

And I guess the other thing that people often call it is "vaporwave meme text", which I guess is semi-accurate, but vaporwave is more of a "scene" than a "meme".

Whether you're creating a meme, a YouTube video title, a username, or whatever else, I hope this vaporwave font generator helps you out. If there's anything I can do to improve it, please leave me a comment! Edit 1: I recently made it generate "ideographic" spaces which are wider.

If you think I should change it back, please let me know! Edit 2: I recently added another "crazier" version which adds in a bunch of stuff including substitutions for the E and A letters. Here's a comparison of full-width and half-width characters: The way this generator creates vaporwave letters is by using the unicode standard which contains "full-width" characters which are wider than usual, or rather, have larger spaces in between the letters.

By Alheak.Vaporwave is a microgenre of electronic musica visual art style, and an Internet meme that emerged in the early s.

The surrounding subculture is sometimes associated with an ambiguous or satirical take on consumer capitalism and pop cultureand tends to be characterized by a nostalgic or surrealist engagement with the popular entertainmenttechnology and advertising of previous decades.

Visually, it incorporates early Internet imagery, late s web design, glitch artanime3D-rendered objects, and cyberpunk tropes in its cover artwork and music videos. Vaporwave originated as an ironic variant of chillwaveevolving from hypnagogic pop as well as similar retro-revivalist and post-Internet motifs that had become fashionable in underground digital music and art scenes of the era, such as Tumblr 's seapunk.

The style was pioneered by producers such as James FerraroDaniel Lopatinand Ramona Xavierwho each used various pseudonyms.

Following the wider exposure of vaporwave ina wealth of subgenres and offshoots emerged, such as future funk, mallsoft, and hardvapouralthough most have waned in popularity. The genre also intersected with fashion trends such as streetwear and various political movements. Since the mids, vaporwave has been frequently described as a "dead" genre. Many of the most influential artists and record labels associated with vaporwave have since drifted into other musical styles.

Vaporwave is a hyper-specific subgenre or " microgenre " [27] that is both a form of electronic music and an art style, although it is sometimes suggested to be primarily a visual medium. Drawing primarily on musical and cultural sources from the s and early s, vaporwave builds upon the experimental and ironic tendencies of chillwave and hypnagogic popwhile also being associated with an ambiguous or satirical take on consumer capitalism and technoculture. Creating a vaporwave track requires only the knowledge of rudimentary production techniques.

Adding to its dual engagement with musical and visual art forms, vaporwave embraces the Internet as a cultural, social, and aesthetic medium. Generally, artists limit their source material between Japan's economic flourishing in the s and the September 11 attacks or dot-com bubble burst of some albums, including Floral Shoppedepict the intact Twin Towers on their covers.

Vaporwave originated on the Internet in the early s as an ironic variant of chillwave [34] and as a derivation of the work of hypnagogic pop artists such as Ariel Pink and James Ferrarowho were also characterized by the invocation of retro popular culture. Like vaporwave, they engaged with notions of nostalgia and cultural memory. Vaporwave was subsumed under a larger " Tumblr aesthetic" that had become fashionable in underground digital music and art scenes of the s.

Vaporwave found wider appeal over the middle ofbuilding an audience on sites like Last. After a flood of new vaporwave acts turned to Bandcamp for distribution, various online music publications such as Tiny Mix TapesDummy and Sputnikmusic began covering the movement.

In Novemberseapunk aesthetics were appropriated in music videos by the pop singers Rihanna and Azealia Banks. The exposure catapulted the subculture to the mainstream, and with it, vaporwave.

Following the initial wave, new terms were invented by users on 4chan and Reddit who sought to separate vaporwave into multiple subgenres. The visual aspect formed faster than the sound, resulting in releases that look the same but fail to form a sonically cohesive whole.

InYouTube began allowing its users to host live streamswhich resulted in a host of hour "radio stations" dedicated to microgenres such as vaporwave and lo-fi hip hop.

She cited their associated fashion staples as "frowny faces, Japanese and Arabic as accessories, sportswear brands, Arizona iced teaand the uncanny ability to simultaneously communicate in and be a meme. Many of the most influential artists and record labels associated with the genre later drifted into other musical styles.

As ofvaporwave albums, including Floral Shoppecontinued to rank among the best-selling experimental albums on Bandcamp. He added that "Users of the various vaporwave sub-Reddits will always take it very seriously for the most part, but even there people are discussing whether or not vaporwave is still going strong.

In DecemberDummy published what was considered the "definitive" article on vaporwave, authored by Adam Harper, in which he equated the genre to accelerationist political theory. The article had the effect of inspiring "a wave of content ambiguously celebrating a dystopian capitalism". Although the article was facetious, its comment section attracted many vaporwave fans who defended such political beliefs.

His remarks popularized the musical and visual aesthetic dubbed " fashwave ", an updating of fascist tropes inspired by vaporwave that was celebrated by many members of the alt-right. InVice 's Penn Bullock and Eli Penn reported on the phenomenon of self-identified fascists and alt-right members appropriating vaporwave music and aesthetics, describing the fashwave movement as "the first fascist music that is easy enough on the ears to have mainstream appeal" and reflective of "a global cybernetic subculture geared towards millennials, propagated by memes like Pepe the Frogand centered on sites like 4chan".

Hann believed that, like those genres, there was little chance fashwave would ever "impinge on the mainstream". Bypink vaporwave-inspired hats that promoted presidential candidate Andrew Yang became popular among his supporters.

National Review commentator Theodore Kopfre reported that it was part of a trend indicating that Yang had "replaced Donald Trump as the meme candidate.

Vaporwave was one of several microgenres spawned in the early s that were the brief focus of media attention. Vaporwave's cultural practices knowingly replicate and parody the addictive, almost compulsory participation that feeds social networks, where the voluntary labor of the user community drives the system and generates value.Embroidered Iron-on patch. An array of outlier detection test results for each numeric field.

A test result which is a dictionary between field ids and test result. The type of result object varies based on the name of the test. When name is benford, it returns Benford Result Object. The distribution of first significant digits (FSDs) to the Benford's law distribution. For example, the FSD for 2015 is 2, and for 0. The array represents the number of occurences for each digit from 1 to 9. Name of the outlier detection test. Currently only value available is grubbs. When name is grubbs, it returns Grubbs Result Object.

An outlier present in the data. It is available only when at at least of one of the boolean values in significant is true. Example: 128 description optional A description of the model up to 8192 characters long. Example: true name optional The name you want to give to the new model. Example: 10 randomize optional Setting this parameter to true will consider only a subset of the possible fields when choosing a split.

Example: 16 tags optional A list of strings that help classify and index your model. Boosting attribute for the boosted tree. All the information that you need to recreate or use the model on your own. Specifies the list of ids of the field that the model predicts. More concretely, it contains the training data distribution with key training, and the distribution for the actual prediction values of the tree with key predictions.

Importance is the amount by which each field in the model reduces prediction error, normalized to be between zero and one. Default strategy followed by the model when it finds a missing value. At prediction time you can opt for using proportional. A dictionary with an entry per field used by the model (not all the fields that were available in the dataset).

They follow the same structure as the fields attribute above except that the summary is not present. A Node Object, a tree-like recursive structure representing the model. Method of choosing best attribute and split point for a given node. For classification models, a number between 0 and 1 that expresses how certain the model is of the prediction. See the Section on Confidence for more details.

Note that for models you might have created using the first versions of BigML this value might be null. An Objective Summary Object summarizes the objective field's distribution at this node.
