The series includes VanquishVanquishand Vanquish devices. The company has already created waves with their new product, partially because this is a serious blow below the belt in terms of competition, and also because now the detectorists try to assess whether the novelty is worth powder and shot.

Meanwhile, the new detectors will become available for purchase only at the beginning ofso the majority of the curious public is left guessing. However, not us. We have already had our hands on these machines, and have a lot to say about them. Minelab boasts huge about these machines, but of course it is always better to have an objective opinion provided, so check it out in the review.

The very first thing to understand about Vanquish detectors is that this series was created for beginner level hunters. Yeah, the machines are equipped with multi-frequency technology, because Minelab made them cool, but they are still targeted at newbies. Now the question is whether Minelab will be able to do what they planned. Of course, we will not get the full picture unless the machines are made available for purchase and are tested on the field by at least the first dozen of detectorists.

However, we can already assess the tech specs and analyze them. One of the most curious peculiarities of this Vanquish series is the Multi-IQ technology, that seems to break all the stereotypes and norms about entry-level metal detectors. And this is little surprise, really, since the competitors are literally close on the heels.

Nokta Makro, for example, have developed an underwater detector with semi-automatic Ground balance — Nokta Makro Simplex — and this device is meant for beginners! The Quest company is also working on a new series of advanced metal detecting machines, also in the beginner-middle level, but with a bunch of cool features. To cut the long story short, it seems that for the first time in the last years the market of metal detectors experiences a real revolution, and the Vanquish series is a big chunk of this revolution.

The design of the Vanquish series is rather curious, and while it really reminds a device from some kind of videogame of the 80s, at least it does not fall apart when handled like Go-Find does.

Vanquish looks pretty solid. Yet, the wire of the coil is still on the outer side, while I would really preferred to have it inside — this is way more convenient, and we could have taken a potshot at several other brands. Moreover, a new series of coils that were developed specifically for Vanquish machines attracts attention as well.

All metal detectors in the series have DD coils, which is really cool best regards to Garrett again! The only thing that makes me personally a bit suspicious is the fact that Vanquish has smaller discrimination segments number, and no pinpoint mode.

Will the user have additional issues with identifying and locating the target in the dirt because of these two features? We will also have to keep in mind that the whole series is meant for beginners, so will beginners be able to take advantage of those cool features, or are those too much?

Or maybe not enough? Vanquish is the simplest of the three models within the Vanquish series. Just for quick comparison, it has only three search modes All Metal, Coins, and Jewelry which are enough for a beginner detectorist, is equipped with 10 inches DD coil, and has the smallest scale of discrimination segments. Limited discrimination can potentially make identification of targets more complicated, but this is yet to be tested. Another important thing to consider is absense of pinpoint mode.

While the majority of metal detectors on the market do not have this mode, and pinpointers are expected to be bought separately which is cool for the seller but not very cool for the userit would have actually made sense to add pinpoint mode even to the youngest model of the series in order to our-execute the competition.

Next features that I suggest you should pay attention to are important in the long run. For example, this model currently does not have a warranty.

Perhaps info about warranty will be available later, and the expected term is 2 years warranty. This detector is all-purpose, uses Multifrequency and is compatible with several coils, which is cool. You can adjust audio tones and depth indication, and also control the volume of signal, because there is no vibration. This is a recent and strong addition to Minelab Catalog of detection equipment that was released officially on September 14 th of …. I have my own reasons why Minelab will dominate the Market by this recent series of machine that I will share later in this Post ….

Business reason: In the last decade Minelab used to introduce to the Market each 2 to 3 years a new series of machines in which they introduce new technologies and features such us the aptX low latency, Muti-IQ, Iron Bias … ….

Technical Reason: Before if you wanted to have a Minelab multi-frequency machine with Iron Bias feature you had to acquire an Equinox model which is not affordable by everybody!

The company has decided, it seems, to produce this series to offer these possibilities at a lower price tag! This is all good …. Business reason: In the last decade Minelab used to introduce to the Market each 2 to 3 years a new series of machines in which they introduce new technologies and features such us the aptX low latency, Muti-IQ, Iron Bias … … … And I feel that the company needs more time to develop something new to overwhelm the market with and releasing this series of detectors will allow them to gain at least 2 to 3 years to release something new from a technological stand-point!

This is all good … 3. Marketing Reason: We all know that Garrett Electronics has dominated the market since the beginning and still does so … And one of the reasons for that, is that it offers good low entry models especially the Garrett Ace Models, Euro … … … I am almost sure that the Vanquish models are a direct competitor of the Ace series … and if people pay attention well, it is obvious that the Minelab models offer far more interesting stuff!

You will feel like an expert after reading their guide without even touching the actual machine.By abensonFebruary 3 in Minelab Metal Detectors. Just got back from 3 days in Oceanside, CA it was nice to get out of the cold here in Utah. Came back to 9 inches of snow this morning.

Didn't take a PI this time because I wanted to see how the Equinox 11" coil and Vanquish V12 coil compared to each other on the beach. Area I hunted was North and South of the pier.

Unreal engine 4 free character models

This beach can be awesome after a big storm. I've been there before when one day you can literally pick up targets off the hard pan because the sand has been totally stripped away and the next day 2 ft of sand has washed back in.

Sand was pretty deep this time all 3 days, in areas at about a foot you would hit a rocky layer where the targets would settle. Tried hunting in the water with the Equinox a few times but it was just too rough and took way too long to recover good targets.

So most of my time was spent between the towel line and waters edge. Nothing exciting found, a bunch of change, and ear gauge and 1 junk ring. A few people have said that the Vanquish appears to be Equal to the Equinox in Beach 1 mode and I would have to agree. I ran the Equinox in Beach 1 sensitivity at about 21 and the Vanquish in Jewelry mode, iron bias low.

Minelab Vanquish 440 Metal Detector

Switching off between the two I didn't really notice any difference in depth both machines recovered several nickels and quarters at the 12" mark and pennies and dime around the 9" mark.

Most stuff I recovered was 6" or more in depth. ID's that were jumpy always turned out to be a corroded piece of aluminum or zinc penny. Because this beach is replenished from time to time with sand pumped from the harbor and other areas, there tends to be places where boat parts, fishing hooks and other junk congregates. I had several instances where I had to use the Equinox because there were just too many targets to separate out the good ones.

Minelab Vanquish 340, 440 and 540 Review

One in particular I ran into with the Vanquish but had to switch to the Equinox turned out to be a small piece of aluminum, a stainless ear gauge, and a quarter mixed with iron trash in a small 1 foot by 1 foot area. The Vanquish was unable dial in on one target although I could tell there was more than just iron there due to the mix of positive numbers. Overall I would have to say the Vanquish is the most capable beach detector I've seen in it's price range unless you need waterproof.

I felt quite confident I wasn't missing much when using the Vanquish unless I was in a junk filled area. One thing I did notice when changing between the 2, the Vanquish is a little nose heavy compared to the Equinox. If you're getting one for a small child to use I would suggest getting one with the smaller coil or switching it out to the smaller one on the Great summary review abenson, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Anyone looking for a value proposition in a saltwater beach detector that need not be submersible, I don't see how the answer can be anything but a Vanquish. Great real world info. Vanquish is very capable and a great value, but has limitations, as expected. Thanks for the great report.

So I'll venture to say by the tones and the blurred image that it's a replacement for the ctx I'd be guessing that sales have diminished with the nox I for one hardly use mine but refuse to get rid of it for it's great Disc in park like settings That is, a detector that can locate gold in areas of high trash.

Just a guess. Dealers would have been informed, and although they are not supposed to say anything dealers always leak information. Minelab knows this and so these types of announcements tend to happen right after a dealer meeting. I've always wanted a Vanquish The Aston Martin version is a little spendy! I don't know if it's just me but the coil on it in that video you barely see through the blur looks like a small coil like a 6" or so which could possibly indicate a gold machine, maybe I'm just being wishful.

What could be the significance in the Q in the name, why are they making it stand out from the rest of the letters? I can't believe the shocking negativity towards Minelab in the comments on the youtube video.

I kinda like you tube I've had my nox for over a year now and used it exclusively during this time and nothing has broke. I dont know how guys are breaking arm cuffs unless they are trying to At least one of our forum members went to the Global Conference. It is the beginning of the buzzzzz for anything new that is at the ready phase. We have to remember a metal detecting company is in business to sell metal detectors. If they can tap into our desires to find more on locations where we have already been or open up 'new' ground then we are vulnerable purchasers.

I think the remaining frontier will be to get to the few remaining places where detectors have not been effective or used. Some sort of barrier to entry such as remoteness, water, mineral or trash. As far a gold detecting goes, many of the areas in the Southwest are still being hunted by people with s, s and s and if they get over gold they are still finding it without needing to buy a new detector. I'll spend a bit more money on travel and research?

Then I'll see what you are finding and think my 'luck' will change! I agree with others, it sounds just like a CTX tone. But notice how fast it is You need to be a member in order to leave a comment.
